PHILATELIC AND NUMISMATIC AGENCIES:
In addition to providing postage stamps for the country of Paraguay, KEFALON intends to work closely with the Paraguayan government in designing, marketing and distributing coins and stamps specifically aimed at the world’s collector markets. The themes of these collectibles will be focused on highlighting the history, culture, and unique landscape of this nation, as well as to showcase the achievements of its people.
The key to a successful philatelic and numismatic program is responsible management and with an experienced and reputable team. We plan to do just that; Restoring the reputation and value of commemorative issues from Paraguay.
Rare stamps and coins have always been a good investment. Rare stamps have been rated among the top four investments of the 20th Century, giving an average annual return of 10%.
Stamp prices have shown a 9.5% increase per annum over the past 50 years. The SG100 Stamp Price Index continues to outperform traditional investments, having risen by 57.8% in the 7-year period ending December 2004, and a further 6.9% by August 2005.
COMMUNICATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION:
KEFALON, on the strength of an experienced and highly respected management team, as well as its strategic alliances with significant industry partners is working to develop the communications and transportation infrastructure of Paraguay.
The economic boom currently being experienced by many of the world’s nations and particularly in South America has created the demand and necessity for developing infrastructure. With current fuel demands driving up the cost of transporting freight and passengers, railroad development and expansion is the logical choice. This is further evidenced by the extensive efforts and investment being made by major North American and European railroad companies.
The efficient and effective growth and expansion of the transportation system and commerce will demand cutting-edge technologies and a secure, reliable and economical communications system.
WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a telecommunications technology that provides for the wireless transmission of data in a variety of ways, ranging from point-to-point links, to full mobile cellular-type access. WiMAX will proved high-speed, affordable internet access to business and residential subscribers, as well as providing a highly secure platform for military, governmental and municipal public safety communications.
Traditionally, high-speed DSL through fiber or copper cabling is expensive, had a slower rollout and required significantly more resources to maintain. Consequently, it was more expensive to the consumer.
The WiMAX network technology is designed for quick efficient deployment. Additionally, new content packages that include voice, data, and video streaming will be introduced, bringing Paraguay to the forefront of communications technology.
LAND DEVELOPMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCE EXPLORATION:
Over two thirds of Paraguay’s land mass is occupied by only two percent of its population. The Chaco region is a vast virgin territory teeming with natural resources. Recent announcements of oil, natural gas, gold, uranium, diamonds and other minerals has made property a hot commodity. Additionally, a strong agricultural and livestock trade, and an abundance of clean potable water, makes Paraguay very diverse and latent with possibilities.
Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, was once again listed among the least expensive cities in the World. The availability of inexpensive natural resources (including the lowest per capita cost for electric power) and labor creates many opportunities and economic incentives for real estate development and industry. With the growth of industry and commerce there is growth in disposable income, in the population, in the demand for housing, and services.
Combining local know-how and foreign technology and capital, KEFALON, in joint venture with local geologists, exploration companies and foreign investors, is involved in several projects locating and acquiring land for exploration and development.
HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS:
We believe that with success comes social responsibility. We are committed to helping provide assistance for the indigenous people of Paraguay and its poor by providing jobs, education and health care services. This will be accomplished through partnerships with nonprofit organizations, donations and fund raising efforts, as well as through providing employment opportunities to the local workforce.
Project: Chaco Paraguayo Relief or PROJECT: C.P.R. for short, is a project created and established by KEFALON. In coordinated efforts with Catholic organizations and other nonprofit groups our goal is to provide direct assistance to the needy of Paraguay.
